- My Pool: My pool was installed sometime in the mid 1980's. I have lived in house since 2013. Vinyl Liner. Sand Filter.Chlorine Pool (No Saltwater). Since moving in I have replaced the sand (twice). New Pump, New Chlorinator, New Multi-Port on my Hayward Sand Filter.
Grey Matter that vanishes
I have maintained this pool for past 5 years of home ownership. The pool is about 33 years old. This grey matter easily brushes away, but always comes back. Even when I vacuum to waste, it comes back next morning. I have tried every chemical recommended. No "local" pool person has ever been able to diagnose. Please help.

Looks like clumped algae. Vac to waste, shock, retest, vac to waste, etc.
Bumped for more help.
I have same issue but mine is not as clumped up.

Really does not look like algae, the water is too clear, just fine silt. I get that at crop cutting time, even gets through the cars cabin filter.
