Too much water coming out of jets??

Postby Jay » Sat 30 Jun, 2018 17:20

So I just bought a house that had a 18’ circular above ground pool with a Hayward ec40 pump/filter. I hooked it up and put 4lbs of earth but it is shooting water pretty hard out of the jet. If I close the flap to the bug trap, it will pump “normally” for a little while. No clue what it’s supposed to be like though. Any help would be very appreciated, thank you!

What's the pressure gauge reading? Did this alter whilst the grids were pre coated? It is quite a powerful unit and with only a single return I would expect it to be strong. Not that is needed for good filtration or the electricity bill.
