Black Stuff in Skimmer

Hello, all. I am a relatively new pool owner. We recently have been getting recurring black “stuff” in the skimmer. I don’t know if this is algae or something else. The pool is 10k gal, in ground, liner, Pool Frog system. Photo attached. Chemicals look ok. Is this black stuff anything to be concerned about? How do we get rid of it? Thanks very much for any insights!!

Clean it! Ok just kidding, but seriously give it a clean with a magic sponge (that is the name they go by)

Hahaha! We have done that, actually. The issue is that it comes back. I'm just trying to figure out of that's "normal" or something to be concerned about.

It looks a bit like the mold you get from sun creams. What are your water figures? Bearing in mind you use the frog mineral (copper) gadget what is the active and total copper level?
You could try the water lily pads as they try to trap oils and fats
