Low Free Chlorine Levels

Postby nosnow_here » Mon 07 Aug, 2006 20:30

Our pool is 2 weeks old (in-ground). I ran test today and my free chlorine level islow, like 0. All others, like PH, Chlorine, etc. are all fine. How do i get Free Chlorine levels up? I added 1/2 gallon of liquid chlorine today. Thanks

Free chlorine is simply the chlorine that is not used up by existing nastiness in the pool. This chlorine is ready to work and react with anything that’s organic. Beware, if this number is 0, following something like a rain fall you may end up with an algae problem in your hands so I would suggest keeping them in the advised levels. You can do this by simply adding a bit more chlorine than what you have been doing, because it seems that your pool uses up all the chlorine you dump in already.

Hope this helps.
