Please Help! - solar cover use

Postby wisconsonite » Wed 23 Aug, 2006 16:00

Just bought a house that comes with an in-ground pool. I just ordered a solar cover which hasn't arrived yet. My question is can I cover the pool and still leave the filter / pump run. Could this cause problems with the solar cover blocking or getting sucked into the skimmer?? I plan on running my pool pump 24-7 till winter close. I also plan on just removing the solar cover when we use the pool.

Hi,
we have a solar blanket on our pool the whole time. We only take it off before we want to go swimming - or if the temperature gets too high and it feels like bathwater and we want it to go down some.
It does not interfere with the pump at all and does not get sucked into the skimmer.
So you'll have nothing to worry there. Happy swimming!
