Brown patches on fllor of pool

Postby mimur » Sun 26 Nov, 2006 10:12

I have light brown patches on the floor of my pool - just been filled. Chemicals and scrubibing don't make any difference. The water is clear and the sides are spotless. I use an Auto Pilot control system.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Can we have a little more information, what type of pool do you have. Is it a lined pool, tiled or marbalene?

It may be that the brown staining is a form of algae, ive seen it a few times. If you decide it could be alage you may find a heavy dose of cholrine to the areas affect may help reduce the staining.

Beware if your going to do this on a liner pool, but you should be ok to do it aslong as you take care.
And as always beware of your clothes.
