air leak into pump

Postby helenerdi » Sat 27 Jan, 2007 13:06

My pool has been leaking air somewhere. My pool maintainance men have been spending hour trying to fix the leak by replacing all gaskets, etc., but have been unsucessful. The lid over the skimmer pops off when this happens. The leak is on the intake side of the pump, bubbles build up and then water surges back into the skimmer and blows off the lid. You have to open the pit cock on the filter to allow air out of the system. THANKS IF ANY ONE CAN HELP, MY HUSBAND HATES THE POOL ANYWAY AND THIS JUSK KEEPS HIM AGGITATED-NO FUN!

Could we have some more information? What sort of pump do you have that is doing this? Is there any area you think is leaking? Does the problem get worse when your cleaner is plugged in? Does it happen all the time?

Regards
