Risk of electrick shock

Hi
I've got a new pool since 2 months now, and here is my question.
Is there any risk of electrocution if I swim with the pumps on?
The electricitian told us tha we have to turn it off every time we dived in, as to prevent any injury, although the pump is grounded and has a GFCI.
This is a problem to me as my pump has a timer, which I have to set so as to turn early in the morning and late at night, so the dirt that comes in during the day isn't skimmed and goes to the bottom.

Sorry I made a mistake and put electrick instead of ELECTRIC.

We have ours on when we are swimming.

Mine runs when we swim. If its wired by a certified electrician to code and grounded it shouldn't be a hazard to you while you swim.

Thanks but the funny thing is that the electricitian was the one who told us not to swim with the pump on.
