dirty pool - cant get it clean...........h.e.l.p.

hello Im very new to the forum and have recently purchased a house with a pool. I had the initial set up done by professionals and everything was going great..........until the weekend. It rained and rained and it was like it was raining dust. My pool is so dirty. I have hoovered it 3 times, backwashed it and checked all the chemicals but they seem fine. What can I do now? please help - my kids are desperate to swim.
