dirty water
we have just filled our pool from a town well, but the water is brownish green why is it this colour and will it be safe to swim in, if so how do we get it to a clear colour.

Is the "town well" for drinking water?
The water is colored because it has impurities. That's not necessarily bad but there in there, nevertheless.
Rather than make a wild guess at the cure, you should take a sample to a pool store and have them test it. Report back those test results and folks can make a far more accurate assessment and help you get your pool cleared.
