lots of questions, please help

Postby gandyfamily2002 » Mon 18 Jun, 2007 10:27

Okay,
we bought one of those cheap 18 ft by 4 ft pools from Walmart. We filled it up added shock and chlorine tablet that floats around the pool. It is saying our PH is High Okay, Alkinity High Okay range and Chlorine low and then says we have Hard Water? What do we need to do? Our water is clear as can be.

Thanks

When you say "It is saying"...what is "it"? Did it come with a pool boy?

We need numbers. Just saying the ph or chlorine is "OK" or "LOW" doesn't help. You should keep your chlorine at 3ppm and your ph in the 7.2-7.6 range.

With such a small pool you run the risk or OVER doing chemical additions which can create more problems then they fix, so go easy. The fact that the water is clear is a good sign that things are close though! You really don't need to worry about hardness in a pool with a vinyl liner, it's cement pools where that becomes critical.
