Safety of staff

Postby Rocheroche1 » Tue 20 Aug, 2019 13:05

Hello all, i am a new member looking for advice.
I am a Health care assistsnt and the gentleman i look after has a hydrothearpy pool in his garden. He has had the pool about 6 years now.
As the gentleman is doubly incontinent and sometimes this happens in the pool, i want to know if the shock treatment works over and over again?
Should the pool be emptied like yearly?

I cannot use any of the chemicals only his family member.

Thanks for any info

Not much to go on there, Yes you can shock a pool over and over but fecal bacteria, E-Coli and Cryptosporidium are resistant to chlorine so additional measures should be taken, if its a small pool emptying it after an accident and then super chlorinating or Chlorine dioxide wash should be done.
