When should i start my salt chlorinator ? Now filter and pump running.
Temperature of water about 55.
Outside temp from 44 to 60.
Should i use shock before starting the chlorinator ?
Thanks

Re: Chlorinator
Test your water first so that you know what to put in
If you have algae then you would need to Slam (Shock Level and Maintain) with relation to your Chlorine / CYA Chart and Recommended Pool Levels
A shock dose to give the chlorine a start would be OK but check your salt level

I have just purchased an intex ultra 24x12 but being in the UK I need a Heat pump. The sunspring 14 was recommended but having got the pool set up the heat pump states it cannot be upstream from the swg that comes with the eco15230-2. I don’t even want to use the chlorinator and happy using chlorine granules. If I disconnect the swg I get error 90. Can I simply run the pump/filter in FP MODE ?

Re: Chlorinator
You are better off using the SWCG as all you need is salt
For every 10 ppm Free Chlorine (FC) added by Trichlor, it also increases Cyanuric Acid (CYA) by 6 ppm.
For every 10 ppm FC added by Dichlor, it also increases CYA by 9 ppm.
For every 10 ppm FC added by Cal-Hypo, it also increases Calcium Hardness (CH) by at least 7 ppm
You need CYA but excessive CYA renders your chlorine ineffective
Best to install the heat pump as per manufacturers instructions
Sorry I can't help in what mode to run your SWCG
