New Saltwater pool
I am brand new to pool ownership. I started my pool filter and added salt with the pump running for 24hrs so far. The pool water is still dark. Is my next step to start the saltwater generator? Or do I need to keep running the filter for another 24hrs? I’m not sure when it’s supposed to clear up. Thanks!

Re: New Saltwater pool
Why is the pool water dark. Is it because you have just opened?
Do you have enough salt in for your SWCG
If you have to Slam (Shock Level and Maintain) with relation to Chlorine / CYA Chart and Recommended Pool Levels because you have algae, it's best to use liquid chlorine

Not sure why it’s dark. I just had it installed and finished filling it yesterday.

Re: New Saltwater pool
Is it well water, municipal or bought in. If well water it could be iron
You really need to get yourself a decent FAS/DPD test kit (Taylor K2006c or TF Testkits TF100 in the states) to get accurate results as maintaining an appropiate shock level means testing quite often during the day
Let's have your numbers
