How drain our inground pool?

Postby Talon65 » Sun 26 Jul, 2020 19:59

Hopefully, this is the right section for this question. We need to drain or partially drain our below ground pool. The pool guy we hired did nothing else but dump chemicals in it and pretty much nothing else and now the pool is "chem locked" I am told. We have a sand filter that will drain from the skimmer but how do I get the pool to drain from bottom drain? I assume I need to do something with these valves but I don't want to mess anything up.

Take photo's of your existing valve positions
Close the skimmer and fully open the main drain
Let's have your numbers and we'll advise on the best way forward

Well, I'm trying to add a photo but the Attachments tab is not showing up as per the "how to post images" thread.

Here we go!

Unfortunately, I dont have the test paper anymore so I don't know what all the test numbers are. That's what Lesley Pools told me when I took the water in to test, the pool is eating up chlorine (about 2 gal a week plus 3 pucks) and has a powdery yellow algea that keeps coming back faster.

I can't advise on any treatment without a complete set of numbers
Get them done again
If you can't play around with your valve settings get a submersible pump
