installation problem

We were having a pool installed july 3rd. After waiting a half hour longer for the contractors (late) they take the bobcat out start digging a 25 inch deep hole for my 27x52 inch pool, after about two scoops they stop saying the ground was to soft and that it would buckle if the pool was put on it...we have mason sand to even it out but they said that wouldnt help it was still to soft....needless to say they didnt install the pool....just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what was done to fix the problem...thanks
