New pool install - water question

Postby Sonya Warner » Mon 17 Jan, 2022 20:15

Hi all,
Brand new pool owner here. In Brisbane Australia. We just have had a fibreglass 12x4.4m (deep end 2.1m) installed. At this stage pool is up to the stage of awaiting coping tiles - concrete has been done around pool, water is in but pump has not yet been connected and water not yet cleaned (pump getting connected sometime this week). Have been advised coping tiles will not be in stock and laid until 24th Jan and they will clean the pool once coping put down.

My question is, the kids are dying to swim (me too tbh haha), so just wondering if anyone knows how long the water is likely to stay safe/healthy? The water is quite clear, just dirt and debris on the bottom of the pool.

Get your self a decent FAS/DPD test kit and get some chlorine in you will then be able to balance it and once the pump is fitted you can vacuum most of the dirt out

Yes as Dennis said, don't wait get some chlorine tabs and a floating dispeser for now, load it up and let it do it work. Buy a good test kit again as Dennis has said.
I may not give you the answer you want to hear, but I will give an honest opinion of your situation as you decribe it.
