First time pool buyer
I need help with purchasing an above-ground pool. I want one with good filtration, sand filtration, carbon, chlorine, the whole nine yards. I want to make sure my pool stays algae-free and perfectly blue at all times. Can someone give me a hand?

Sand filter yes, but with Dr Drydens activate AFM ng filter media. Never needs changing, does not biofilm filters to 1 micron (finer than DE) can use flocculent to go below 1 micron. The more dirt, bacteria etc you remove from the water the less chlorine you need to maintain it. Variable speed pump or speed controller.
Having low nutrient water (phosphates) is key to keeping the potential algae growth controlled, no food no algae. So have your water tested to see the supplied levels, there are threads on this where some have 4000ppm in their water supply.
Carbon, Why? Carbon would strip out the chlorine so not what you want. Keeping the chlorine and CYA stabiliser at the correct ratios means no algae growth, excellent filtration helps. Get a great test kit and not dip strips. Big pumps do not improve filtration they worsen it. Smsll filters make everything worse.

Thanks for the info, if it's not against board rules, is there a pool/pump you could recommend? I'm looking for a long pool instead of circular.

I dont think that would help as I am in UK and most of my experience is from European suppliers.
