any recommendations on which are good/which to avoid? Someone on one of the other threads had mentioned Taylor - any thoughts?

Yes.

Get a Taylor K-2006, or one from THESE PEOPLE, which is based on the Taylor but with larger reagents.

I fount the Taylor kit HERE...good price too.
