New Pool Owner

I'm the owner of a home in Phoenix with a new pool. I currently have a pool guy that comes once a week to do whatever he does. Does the pool REALLY require this kind of attention? Every other month? What do you suggest?

Is there Pools for dummies? Never owned one before...

Do you have a Leslies Pool store or other in your area? I recommend you go to them and get what you need to maintain your pool. Its not that hard for you to do yourself; and cheaper!!!
