Plaster Spider Webing

Postby gshack » Mon 01 May, 2006 07:47

I recently put in a plaster pool. Finished in April. The seats in the spa and several other steps appear to have spider webbing type of cracks. Is this normal or should I be concerned? What is a remedy to get rid of the spider webbing?

I am concerend about calcium build up and of course at some point leaking or other accelerated depreciation.

Thanks

Plaster pool cracks

The fine cracks you mention are often seen in plaster pools. They are almost always surface cracks and do not generally leak.

Unfortunately there is no solution.

Calcium build up is only an issue if the hardness, total alk or pH is high. Calcium depletion and erosion of the plaster may become a problem if the hardness, total alk or pH is too low.
