New house with green pool

Postby chadroscoe » Thu 29 May, 2008 00:05

Hiya~
We are trying to buy a house with an in-ground pool and attached hot tub. Both are full, which I guess is a good sign, but both are full of green water.
I'm assuming that if we get the house we will have to drain the water and scrub off the green stuff? Is that right? 10% bleach to scrub/kill everything?
Is it expensive to have a pool service?
Thanks!

Green pools can generally be cleared up without draining the water. If you had the water fully tested at a pool store then you would have a better idea if you would be able to clear it or would need to drain.

Pool service costs vary quite a bit depending on area of the country.
