time for pH balancer to work

Postby new pool rookie » Sat 19 Jul, 2008 01:55

Hi Everyone,

I am a new pool rookie and was wondering if anyone knows how long the pH balancer will take to work? My reading tested at 8.4, so I added pH minus to bring it down. All my other readings were good. I just didn't want to get an inaccurate reading, so I wanted to make sure I waited the correct amount of time before testing again. Any help would be appreciated.

pH minus is a granular acid so will take a few hours to dissolve and some more time to mix up. You best bet (and cheapest) is to use muriatic acid to lower your pH. It is a liquid acid and mixes completely in a couple hours.
