I have a 14000 litre pool and my pump does 180 litres a minute so it takes around 1.5 hours to turn the whole pool water over. At the moment I leave the pump on 24 hours a day but my heater only 6 hours overnight, can anyone tell me if it is beneficial for me to not run my pump 24 hours, i.e. will my pool keep warmer for longer?

pool heat

I tried both ways and found that I lost a little more heat when the pump was off for 12 hrs rather than when I was running it for 18 hours... All I can imagine is that the warmer water was brought back down to the bottom rather than rising and cooling with the air..
Hope this helps.
