loop lock cover without patio

Hello again
Has anyone installed a loop lock cover BRFORE the patio was finished? I have a new pool but the patio will wait 'till after the winter (I want the ground to settle) Is it possible to temporarily secure the cover before that?

For applications into dirt looploc will provide stakes that drive into the ground in place of the brass anchors that are drilled into the deck and the springs will attach to these stakes. This is a possible solution until the deck is in place.
