HELP- new construction issue

Postby dklynd » Tue 05 Feb, 2019 22:01

We are having a pool installed (inground) and they hit rock. This started in November, now we are finally at a point that they are about to install the liner, however, where the rock was they are going to patch it with vermiculite? I thought it would need a better base before the vermiculite is installed... any help would be appreciated! I do not see how a small “cave” would be able to with stand time with just vermiculite. HELLLPPPP!

I'm not an expert on pool construction but I would be inclined if you hit rock to level with rebar concrete first
Vermiculite is compressable
Don't allow them to progress untill you are confident. They can give you all the guarantees in the world but try and get them back to rectify it later, it just won't happen

Is it a vermiculite concrete?
