Wall up old skimmer and use floating skimmer

Postby distjams » Wed 19 Apr, 2017 09:55

Last year I drained my pool because I had cracks down the wall by both skimmers and both were leaking.
I cut out the deck by the skimmers and was prepared to replace them both and fix the cracks.
While online looking for replacement skimmers I ran across a floating skimmer that attaches to a suction line or plugs in to the suction line of your existing skimmer.
Then I had the idea that I could wall up the old skimmer, keep it in place and use floating skimmers.
That is what I did.
It worked out great and I think the floating skimmers work better than my old ones.
Here are some pictures.

Thanks for posting this, how often do you change the water of your pool?
