Hi
I am busy to build an in ground swimming pool from concrete.
The pool will be length 18 feet, wide 8 feet and depth 4.9 feet.
I want some advice and recommendation regarding the construction of this pool.
What is the best coating or sealing for the concrete wall
What is the best filter to use for this pool, DE, sand of cartridge filter
What is the best pump to use for this swimming pool also best in energy effeminacy
What is the best way to put the drain one is enough seeing that the pool is not so big
How long should the pump work to filter the entire pool seeing the measure that i give.
Hope that i can get some great advise for this project that i will begin.

Already answered you, please just use one thread or it gets confusing.

Re: New in ground pool advice
I’m currently building 11.5 metres by 4.9 Metres by approx 6ft deep... by concrete blocks through steels and filled accordingly. I am now mulling over wether render and g4 to tank it or wether to tile it but have no idea of what it takes to tile and tanking it..
1. do I need to render it first ???
2. Do I need to tank it first with g4
3. How are the tiles sealed ??
4. The pros and cons to either render g4 and paint and pros and cons to tiles

Not familiar with G4, send a link?
The tiles are not normally porous so no sealing is required. Tiles must be fixed and grouted with swimming pool grade adhesive for constant immersion and not an ordinary water proof adhesive. Epoxy adhesive and grout is popular.
Paint is crap! All of it! You could if you have the budget go for an Eco pool coat. This is applied with a hot flame gun, not cheap but looks good and lasts.

So you think it’s best to tile rather than paint it after render...

I think that's what I wrote, you could use a liner if the shape will allow, weld on site is always better than a bag liner but at least you can change the look easily enough after say 15 years. Liner pool fittings are different though so care if you go that route.
