Need to manage equipment noise level

Hi all, newbie here. I just had my pool redone, haven't even used it yet. However we relocated our equipment to the area between us and our neighbor and the pump and heater make too much noise. Especially to use the jacuzzi at night.
At this point, moving the gear is not an option so I am in search of some info on ways to contain the noise. For example, our contractor has suggested adding a "roof" between our house and the wall between our properties. First of all, that's not to code, but our neighbor is not against it. And, we would have to vent the heater with custom exhaust (expensive).
Anyone else have a noise issue that can weigh in with a suggestion? We have:
Pentair Inteliflo VSF pump
Pentair Clean and Clear Plus filter
Pentair Mastertemp 400 heater
