Paint

Postby Remedy234 » Fri 07 Jun, 2019 07:17

I’m going to repaint the pool. I’ve no idea what it’s currently painted with. Is there an easy way to find out in the UK?

It's quite common to use chlorinated rubber paint that has a slightly rubber texture. It could also be epoxy paint that generally snaps into shards. If it is acrylic it behaves more normally like paint. You could send a sample to a paint lab for examination.
Trouble is all pool paint is crap IMO, I would refuse to carry out that work for a customer as I have no faith in the products and would not want any comebacks.

Didn't my description of the 3 most common pool paints help?
You may not have any worries about customer complaints but my point is pool paint is crap, hence why you are having to re do it.
Alternative coatings are polyurea, and Aquabright, far better long term, even a coloured gel coat fibreglass lasts longer.
