New pool construction options

Postby Pascagoulabeach » Thu 01 Aug, 2019 10:34

I am getting ready to start sign a contract fiat a new gunite pool and spa. The pool is 16x30 and the spa is 7x7. I live in south Mississippi and have chosen a combo heat pump for heating and cooling the pool. I have the option of using that heat pump to heat the spa or purchase a separate gas heater for the spa. The main reason I am considering this is the time that it takes to heat the spa using gas vs the heat pump. I have 220v and gas already at the site of the pool. Any thoughts?

Also, can someone point me in the direction of a good list of things that I should think about before construction begins.

I understand where you are comming from and having the gas heater for times when you haven't thought ahead and want to use the spa is a good idea, I have done similar for a customer.
What should you think about? Filtration and flow. Get those right and pool maintenance gets a whole lot better! Dr Dryden's Activate glass media, the best. https://youtu.be/kOG3wTUsCio

If you can afford it go for both heaters as a heat pump is fine in summer months but struggles more in colder months
