Sand Bottom Vinyl Liner Inground Pool

Postby MattyT » Sun 17 May, 2020 08:45

Hi. I bought a house with an existing unground pool. It is a sand bottom pool, so probably built in the 80’s. It has been mildly updated (ie. liner, new deck, new pump filter and heater). It isn’t leaking but the liner looks like it has 3-4 years left. The deep end is very rough (ie divots in liner). When we replace the liner, is it possible to convert a sand bottom pool into a vermiculite bottom pool while keeping the same walls, pipes, etc. The pool is 20x40, and the walls are in very good condition, meaning they are straight and not bowing.
I wouldn’t do this myself, I am just wondering if it’s possible. I live in Toronto Canada if that makes a difference.

Thanks
