Is there a GOOD reason to NOT build vinyl lined pool in AZ?

I am considering installing a new inground pool in Phoenix Az. I have read all of the pros and cons both for and against each type of pool. What I want to know now is if there is any valid reason for not having a vinyl pool in the Az. desert. I know it is hot here and vinyl and nylon tend to dry out pretty easily but how would a pool filled with water dry out? Would the UV be a problem? Not really more UV here than anywhere else ... just more days of it. Most liners come with some sort of warranty and I can't see why it would be a probelm to install a vinyl lined pool in AZ. Any thoughts? They don't really sell them much here but no one seems to know why.
