How hard is it to work with gunite or shotcrete?

Postby _ThaNerd_ » Wed 30 Sep, 2020 05:31

I'm thinking of building a pool on my own of about 12x22 in size.

The thing that scares me the most is the concrete part. I have these questions:

1) is it hard to shape the gunite/shotcrete?
2) how long do I have to shape it before it fully dries?
3) can one person do this or it will I need several people shaping the pool while one shoots the content?
4) can I build the floor out of cement and then once it dries do the walls one by one? If so, will the cement join itself where the walls/floor meet or will I have an issue?

Shotcreters work in gangs for a very good reason. No further comment needed on that topic.
ICF forms like Nudura are possible for self assembly but youll still need help during the pour as tiredness will set in then failure.
