My Pool: 16x32 inground steel wall liner pool. My first build.

Old brick/concrete & ground water under new pool build.

Hello!

New to the forum and working on installing my first inground pool! What a job!! Putting in a 16X32 steel wall vinyl liner pool with a flat bottom and have hit a few issues.
1.) Under the base of the stairs, I found old red bricks. I have no idea how far down they go. Appears as if they were dumped there when the house was built (approx. 42" underground), then buried. How deep should I go to try to remove them? I'm worried they could be several feet deep and also worried about collapsing/sinking after the liner and water is added. Assuming dig them out some and backfill with gravel?

2.) It appears the water table is just a few inches under my final dig depth. With it being a flat bottom pool, would I be Ok to dig down an extra 4-6 inches and backfill with gravel? I'll have a minimum 2" pool base on top of that before doing the liner.

Thanks!!

Drew
