concrete patch

Postby Mechanical2499 » Wed 16 Feb, 2022 21:50

We are in the middle of a new inground construction and the plumber missed running plumbing for a bubbler which I get happens. They trenched around the perimeter and ran the new plumbing line then cored a hole in the side of the pool (plaster has not been applied yet) and trenched through a step to get the plumbing where it should have gone. My worry is that they used quickcrete to make the repairs. I would think more pool specific product would have been used. I worry both from a structural integrity standpoint and the aesthetics after plaster is applied.

Wouldn't be too worried about structural integrity as there is hopefully more than enough concrete around the penetration to cope but no way would I use quickcrete, I always use a bentonite repair mortar that expands in the the presence of water forming a permanent water tight seal.
