Looking to build a concrete block above ground pool 6m X 3x 1.8 .
Base slab 150mm with slab thickness under block wall 200mm
Rebar in the slab base vertical up thru adbri dry stack concrete blocks then filled with concrete with a top ring beam formed in concrete.
Question I have is insulation.
Looking to insulate under the slab with xps board. Don't want to really put the xps board on the exterior of the pool walls and wouldn't like the look so wondering if anyone insulated their concrete pool interior and then rendered and tiled over the xps boards.
Anyone in Australia built their own pool and passed council regs with drawings and approvals?

Re: concrete block above pool
Not tiled but yes to the rest with vinyl liner to finish. Probably going to do the same to mine next year when I re model after 20 years.
I may not give you the answer you want to hear, but I will give an honest opinion of your situation as you decribe it.
