Old in ground pool is too deep

Postby South Dakota Pool » Fri 21 Sep, 2007 14:56

Our indoor, in ground pool concrete pool was build in 1965 and is 9' deep. Would it be possible to fill in the bottom to about 5' and then put in a liner. There are no real pool experts in the north country, so any suggestions of advice would be appreciated.

Been a pool guy for 9 years and have seen this done once. The pool that it was done on had straight angles where the walls met the floor so it wasn't a big deal.

You just have to make sure that the liner is measured well and all the cement surfaces really should be foamed. Before dropping in the liner.

I've reaised the debth of a few gunites but keeping them gunite/marbledust. We just dumped in RCA, rebarred again, shot it and dusted everything
