ok i have a question about cutting the wall
OK. We are trying to work with the posts that have been ordered a foot too short. also, the fact that the bottom is pretty much rusted out. Here is the question has anyone ever tried cutting the wall down a foot if not any questions, problems, concerns, health hazards in doing this would be greatly appreciated. It is an 18' x 52" round above ground that we are cutting to make an 18' x 48" round.

not my idea to cut in fact i think its ill advised myself, but my brother is adamant about the subject. going over there in an hour. if his wife cant talk him out of it i doubt i can. my concerns are cutting instrument to use. how to seal the cut, is the bottom supposed to have a bevel of any kind, also stability is a major concern in my mind.

I believe he is referring to cutting the vertical supporting rails turning a 4 1/3' pool into a 4' pool. The problem with doing this, however, lies with the height of the liner as it is specifically designed to fit around the original rail height, and not the lower height possibly stressing the rails causing a potential collapse. I would vote against cutting them.
