I am very very new to pool maintenance, we had an above ground 12x18 pool installed August 2016, so this is my first full summer having to maintain the pool. I accidentally left the filter off for 2 days and the pool turned cloudy white... I shocked it yesterday, and no change. So this morning I took a water sample to our local pool place.... They gave me a list of things to add (below) and told me to add it to the skimmer in the order they said... I got to the Calcium hardness and only put maybe 0.5lbs in and the filter clogged, and I can NOT get it blowing again... I turned the filter off for now, and tried blowing it out with the hose, and it still won't work. I am worried the chemicals sitting in the pipe will some how corrode the system.... After googling it looks like the pool guy didn't know what he was talking about and I should have put the Calcium in to the pool water directly (not the skimmer). Any one else made this mistake? Will it dissolve and the filter be back to running order? Help!
1lb Shock Treatment
4.6lbs Alkalinity Increaser
9.8lbs Calcium Hardness
2.5lbs Chlorine stabalizer
HELP! I put Calcium Hardness in my skimmer and now it is clogged!

Backwash your filter to clear out the clog
Stay out of the pool store, they are in the business of selling
Get a decent test kit (TaylorK2006c or TF100) to do your own testing
Get your numbers
FC:
TC:
pH:
TA:
CH:
CYA:
Use these chemicals to maintain your pool
Liquid chlorine (sodium hypochlorite or plain bleach)
Muriatic acid (hydrochloric acid) to lower pH and TA
Bicarbonate of soda to raise TA
Aeration will raise pH only
Stabilised chlorine pucks and granules contain Cyanuric acid and when it builds up renders your chlorine ineffective
For every 10 ppm Free Chlorine (FC) added by Trichlor, it also increases Cyanuric Acid (CYA) by 6 ppm.
For every 10 ppm FC added by Dichlor, it also increases CYA by 9 ppm.
For every 10 ppm FC added by Cal-Hypo, it also increases Calcium Hardness (CH) by at least 7 ppm
