I put in what the pool store told me..so i need to,find out how to understand pool chemistry..how do i that..especially if my levels are good..

Forget the pool store they are there for profit and they are just guessing as well
Get yourself a proper test kit, don't rely on the free pool store tests because you will need to do multiple tests
Read the PoolSchool http://www.troublefreepool.com/content/ There is a load of information there. All you need to be self sufficient
Once you have all your correct levels including combined chlorine you can adjust from there
You will probably need to Slam the pool http://www.troublefreepool.com/content/125-slam-shock-level-and-maintain-shockingl
I have already given you the link previously and if you had read it you would have realised just what needs to be done
There is also a Pool Math there to work out just what is needed to get your levels right

But you must have your own levels before you start
