My Pool: 24 ft above ground pool, 1.5 hp Hayward pump (new) great sand filter. ..

frustrating as all heck...

bought a house that came with a 24-foot above-ground. They did not open it at all for a year and it was left uncovered. We drained as much as we could and scooped out as much as we could but had to fill it up quickly. Now filled with brand new water and shocked and clarified and we still can't get this water clear! Zero leaves, more brown than green.... Brand new pump..1.5 hp, sand filter...back washing, pump on 24/7...What are we doing wrong?

You have to Slam
Check your chlorine /CYA with Chlorine / CYA Chart after checking the recommended Pool Levels for your pool then adjust with Pool Maths for the right amount of chemicals
