Cloudy Water after Metal Treatment

Postby pool poorhouse » Fri 08 Jun, 2007 15:57

Hi all,

Would appreciate your thoughts...

Last weekend I tried treating brown stains on the bottom of our 30k gallon vinyl pool by allowing the chlorine level to drop to zero and adding 2 qts. of ascrobic acid and 2 qts. of Metal Free. By accident, we added shock the next day which immediately caused the pool to become milky and it has been milky since then (6 days), though it has been a bit less so over the past couple of days. With algae starting to form, I added liquid sodium hyperchlorate today and the water immediately turned completely milky again. Any thoughts on what to do? Readings are:

Chlorine: 1p
Ph: 7.4
Alk: 90
Hardness: 250

Thank you!

Keep your chlorine up to shock level for a day or so and keep the pump running 7/24. You are going to have to wait it out. It will clear
