Frantic About Cloudiness & Chemicals

Postby RICK-Hiram » Tue 26 Jun, 2007 13:28

Hi Folks,

I have a 24 ft round above ground pool located in the southern USA.
This season I have balanced the pool, stabilized it, put in calcium, chemically cleaned the filter, shocked it, put in blue polly cleaner, and flocked it.(made the pool dealer rich)

For some reason the chlorine levels will not stay up, and the pool is slightly cloudy.... Any ideas please help

50, as of yesterday before we flocked pool. Please advise what is CYA and can I test at home for this item?

CYA is stabilizer. It acts as a sunscreen for water. Ideal is 30 - 50. Higher is not recommended, usually. None is really not good as you can see.

Yes, you can test CYA at home.
