Can House fire residue cause cloudy water

The day after a major house fire in our neighborhood, our 30K gallon pool became cloudy. After shocking, clarifying, vacuuming on waste, and other treatments recommeded by our pool advisor, the pool is still cloudy (7 days)...we have had no problems with this pool for 14 years, so we know how to maintain it. Chlorine and ph levels are all over the map, but have been in the acceptable range several days....but we cannot get it stabalized. Ideas anyone??

I doubt it. You were probably so interested in the fire you forgot to keep your pool maintained.

Using your test kit, please post a full set of numbers so we can see where you are rather than guessing.
