Cloudy pool water

Postby TizMe » Sun 26 Aug, 2007 10:12

First time poster and need some help !! We have an above ground pool vinyl liner 13,600 gal. We are in GA and have have tons of trouble with our pool this year. Our water was green so we took out the steps and started shocking it daily. When our Alk went below normal we added some of that and also some super blue. We have cleaned the filter and vacc'd the pool and cant seem to get it past the cloudy stage to clear up. When we look in the pool you an just barely make out the design on the bottom. Please ,does any one have advice on thr next step to get past the cloudy stage to and on the way to crystal clear water. We also hve an auto clorinaor on the pool. Is it possible that this can get plugged up. I took the top off today to check tab level and there wasnt a drop of water in it!! :(

What type of filter and how long do you run your pump?

First off the green you mentioned would be copper stain which is probably to do with your constant shocking.

As for yr cloudy water I would recommend that you do a check on your filter and make sure you have proper suction & circulation before you look into the other elements.

Lower your FC levels to 2- 3 ppm rather than 10 ppm that is wayy off scale. Then TRY running your filter for a day and see what happens afterwards. (This should fix yr problem)

If it is still the case come back, do check your TDS levels.
