sand in bottom of intex pool

Postby girv » Sun 03 Aug, 2008 20:57

I have a 18 x 48 intex pool. and somehow I got sand in it, and I cannot get it out. I have had the kids do a whirlpool and I have tried to vaccum it and It still will not come up.
The filter I have has cartridges and every 1/2 hour it is clogged and I have to empty it out and the h20 in the filter is brown.
I have checked my levels and they are perfect. in the morning the h20 is clear and the bottom is dirty and then after it gets use the h20 looks yucky!

I had the same problem but it was a really fine grain sand. I ended up getting a cheap venturi vacuum at the pool store, $19 @ Toys 'R US. It's a pole mounted vacuum head that uses a garden hose to make the suction but instead of using the filter bag that came with it, I gerry rigged another hose to get that stuff out into my garden. I had to do it a few times, but now that problem is gone. Getting the kids to do a whirl pool before exiting does tend to consolidate the debris.
