My Pool: Indoor, 6m x 4m, 1m deep at shallow end, 2m deep other end... no idea about pumps - it's one of the reasons why I am here...

Hi everyone.

Hi guys,
Just thought I'd say hi. I live in the south west of England, renting a house with an indoor pool which looks like it hasn't been used in a while.. I managed to get the pumps working and stuff, but the water is a bit murky - looking forward to some advice from the experts :D :D :D

Ok, first piece of advice, get hold of decent water testing kit. Absolutely do not buy test strips or electronic test strip readers.
Do a full set of tests and let us know. In the meantime add some chlorine just to keep it running.

Hi jacksnakes and welcome
On top of what Teapot says, use these common products to balance your pool
Liquid chlorine (sodium hypochlorite or plain bleach) you may want to temporary use Trichlor pucks to chlorinate and raise your CYA to 20
Muriatic acid (hydrochloric acid) to lower pH and TA
Bicarbonate of soda to raise TA
Aeration will raise pH only
Soda ash will raise pH and TA
