Loss of suction

whle starting to vacum pool my pump loses suction in less than a minute, basket on pump loses its water, after removing vacum hose and running pump as normal filtration it works fine. any ideas what the problem is?

My Pool: The pool is a 50,000ltr concrete inground with a sand filter. It is a "Figure 8" shape with two steps at the shallow end. There is 3 options for the return water, two side wall jets, 3 in floor returns and or a water fall at the shallow end. The pool has a pebble Crete finish.

I have the same problem. I feel its a crack in pvc pipe that widens when vac line has a load (cleaner). When just the skimmer in use, all is good.

Try connecting the vacuum via the skimmer just to check it's the vacuum line
