Have you water test results and not from dip strips then we get a picture of your water and why this may be happening

Re: Pool wall staining
The staining was there when we bought the house, but I get my water tests done every week at the local pool store and everything is within range, however, ph is usually on the high side of the range coming in at 8...

You say they are in range according to the pool store!
Let's have your numbers according to the pool store
FC:
TC:
pH:
TA:
CH:
CYA:
Your pH will continue to rise because of your waterfall, reducing your TA may help
Can you show an image of the staining without the water running

When the pH gets to 8 metals in the water drop out of suspension and stain.

Re: Pool wall staining
Your CYA is a bit high try reducing it to 50 with a CYA of 70 you need a target of 8-10 chlorine
Have you tried muriatic acid on the staining
Your waterfall will increase pH by aerating the water and increasing the alkalinity, try reducing your TA to see if you get a more lower stable pH (maybe after you have tried muriatic on the stain)
